Captivus
by Janberk Ulus

An estranged man in an unfamiliar city fights a solitary, exhausting battle against chronic insomnia. Suffocating within the claustrophobic walls of his own mind, his reflection in the window becomes a haunting mirror of existential alienation. His psychological decay is further isolated by a detached flatmate who views his suffering merely as a disruption to personal comfort. Seeking a futile escape, he walks to the shore, where a cold encounter with a stranger forces him to confront a permanent, painful detachment from his childhood and his roots.
