Ceremony

Before graduation, I made a wish for a heavy downpour.Within that wish, there was the phrase "one last time."
One month before my graduation, my grandfather passed away.On the day before the burial, that was the opportunity to see his face "one last time."
Is there some ritualistic meaning hidden between "wishes" and "the last time"?
