The Song of The Village Girls
by Orçun Alp Subaşılar

Ece, a high school student who is used to urban life and attached to her comfort, travels with her friends to a village school in Çatalca as part of a mandatory community service program. At first, she looks down on village life, finds the conditions unfamiliar and difficult, and behaves reluctantly. However, she is deeply affected by the simple yet meaningful way of life she encounters there, especially by Irmak's love for and devotion to her village. As Ece spends the day participating in cleaning and volunteer activities, she comes face to face with nature, animals, and the realities of village life. Gradually, her prejudices begin to fade. The moment she watches Irmak working in the fields at sunset becomes a turning point of awareness and inner transformation for her. By the end of the day, as she leaves the village, Ece is no longer the same person. She has undergone a profound change, gaining a deeper understanding of both the different aspects of life and her own perspective.
